Confess Our Sins-December 20, 2011

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

God wants us to confess/uncover our known sins to HIM/others because if we don’t do so, the sins will make us into fools. Sin causes shame, fear, embarrassment, and regret for many. Moreover, it causes pride: to be deceived that one is 100% faultless and has no need of correction. All of these we can avoid/overcome when we are humble and ask for God/others forgiveness.

Romans 8:37 (King James Version)

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

James 5:16 (New Living Translation)

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

1 John 1:9 (New Living Translation)

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all wickedness.

·         Sin and the residue of sin (shame, fear, embarrassment, regret, pride) is wickedness, and God promises to remove it all!

John 3:17 (King James 2000 Bible)

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Romans 8:1 (King James Bible Cambridge Ed.)

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk no after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
