Love

is the ability to be considerate of others

and

put your own will aside

for the benefit of someone(s) else.

1 Corinthians 13:5 "…[Charity] seeketh not her own…"

THE WOMAN CAME FROM A MAN'S RIB.

NOT FROM HIS FEET TO BE WALKED ON.

NOT FROM HIS HEAD TO BE SUPERIOR, BUT FROM THE SIDE TO BE EQUAL.

UNDER THE ARM TO BE PROTECTED, AND NEXT TO THE HEART TO BE LOVED.

Feeling Guilty??? (9/2/2011)

Friday, September 2, 2011

The devil loves to condemn people…make them feel guilty about sins, like the stains of sins are permanent…

Speaking from my own experiences, the devil seeks to make me remorseful to the point I cannot look beyond my sin; I feel so bad that I cannot approach God or talk to Him.

Sadly, this is the outcome the devil wants: To kill your hope of forgiveness, to steal your joy and time, to destroy your relationship with God (Alpha & Omega).

After confessing sins to God, to overcome fear of judgment and condemnation, remind yourself of God's love towards you; take bible scriptures and make them personal by inserting your name.

For example: John 3:16 (New Living Translation) "For God loved [Denina] so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

Or: Romans 8:35-37 (New Living Translation) "Can anything ever separate [Denina/me] from Christ's love…No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is [mines] through Christ, who loved [me]."

Believe in God's word. Believe He is not like man, and will remain true to His word at all times (2Peter 3:9). He IS faithful. He IS forgiving. He IS loving. He IS NOT a liar.

Believing in God and developing faith may require practice and repetition (Romans 10:17)…that is repeating God's word to yourself and the devil.

Be encouraged that God is on your side (Galatians 3:26)  (Romans 8:34)  (Romans 8:27)  (Hebrew 7:24-25) and He's developing you into perfection (Philippians 1:6)  (1Corinthians 1:8)  (Romans 8:29).

Feeling Guilty???
9/2/2011
God can and will forgive my sins when I'm honest and ask for it!

If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].

"I--yes, I alone--will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again."

John 10:10 (Amplified) Jesus Speaking
"The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)."

Whoever believes in him (Christ Jesus) is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance

Fear of the Lord (8/22/2011)

Monday, August 22, 2011

Proverbs 14:26
In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Proverbs 16:25
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 15:33
The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.
---

From what I've experienced and learned, the fear of the Lord is reverential fear.

Reverence is to honor and respect. This should be felt by and shown to God.

Reverence is expressed to every time you CHOOSE to, with an honest heart:
  • Say "Thank you"
  • Believe what God says in the bible and through others
  • Love others like Christ
  • Love yourself like Christ
  • Follow God's instructions and way for living
  • Ask God for help and guidance
  • Wait for God's guidance
  • Share God's word with others

Choose to fear God because you love him for WHO he is and his characteristics. He is such a good God and loves you dearly...He shows this daily...it makes his heart glad when we return this love to him as an act of gratitude (not in worry of punishment, or as a burdensome task). Love on the Lord by fearing him.

Look for opportunities to love

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

James 5:16 (New American Standard Bible)
Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

1 Peter 4:8 (New International Version)
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Romans 13:8 (New Living Translation)
Owe nothing to anyone--except to your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God's law.
----
One of the things I'm noticing is the fact that there are so many opportunities to pray for other people. There was a time when I would pray about something and forget what it was (or for whom) I prayed for. But as of lately, God has been teaching me how to be sensitive to others; one of the ways God is teaching me is by showing me how to love others through my prayers.

Praying for others, whether or not they asked me to do so, is a way I show my love for others and for God. When I pray, I am showing God that I care about what He cares about, which is people and their wellbeing. I am also helping other people receive what it is they need.

I have a responsibility (as do all other Christians) to love others as Christ would. Jesus prayed for others, that they would be healed, that they would have peace, that they would have strength and self-control in times of temptation. Likewise, I have to pray for others, and do so with a heart that expects change. By faith I pray that things will change, and by faith I thank God for the new things is doing in His people's lives.

Love On Your Haters

Saturday, March 12, 2011

Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV)

Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?

Jesus said unto him, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment."

"The second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hand all the law and the prophets."
----
Haters may perpetually hate on you, but that shouldn't dictate your actions and limit the love you show to them. God has shown us love so that we will know what it's like to have something we don't deserve but can enjoy freely.

Show mercy. Show grace. Practice patience. You may not like what they do & say, but love on your haters :)

Are you dating someone? Or looking to do so in the future?

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Meditate on these scriptures for understanding and guidance!

God gave me these scriptures to meditate on in November 2010, and His words have not failed me yet :)

It's sooo important that you ask God for guidance concerning dating. And in doing so, He will lead you according to His will, which enables all things to work out for your good and His glory!

In times when I felt (or feel) confused or questioning, I re-read these words to redirect my mind and thoughts (and subsequently my emotions and actions). These words helped me to think like God would concerning people I was conversing with. As a result, I learned (and am learning) to listen to God's voice and learned to be obedient to His instructions (and love-filled restrictions at times).

After meditating, I pray to God according to His words, and I cast my cares upon Him. Then the peace of God covers me, and I'm able to enjoy the time He's given me w/o worry and anxiety. I didn't waste a lot of time engaging in conversations and relationships that God didn't approve of! Equally important, I didn't develop emotional ties or certain relationships with people that wasn't in God's will for me at that time.

That's an example of how these scriptures have (and are) helping me; I recommend these scriptures to all that are dating or seeking to date in the future.
